Dr. Yang Gao gave a presentation on Precise Point Positioning and Path to Mass-Market Applications [download here]

Abstract:

Precise Point Positioning (PPP) has gained wide acceptance and increased applications in recent years and has become a major precise positioning technology using Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Lately there is a strong market demand to bring high-precision GNSS to mass-market applications from emerging self-driving cars, drones to smartphones. PPP is considered a desired approach to support such mass-market applications. This presentation will discuss technology advances in precise point positioning, opportunities and gaps to mass-market, and some latest progress in technology and product development.
